Empowering People To...
Serve The World
As a core element of Southbridge's Mission, we support the following missionaries on a monthly basis as they impact their area of the world for Christ.
Josh and April Amiot
Taylor, Emma and Lucy
The Amiots are currently in the States on furlough and will be residing in our SCC missions house! We are excited to have them as our first family to be blessed by this wonderful home. They are preparing to go to Costa Rica.
Prayer Requests: Pray for continued healing for April as well as their child Emma. Also pray for God’s provision as they raise funds in the coming year to go to Costa Rica.
Chris and Monica DeLaurentis
Pastors of Life Center, formerly known as Inner City Church of Minneapolis. Their vision is to change our city’s impoverished neighborhoods; one person at a time and their mission to build healthy communities using their proven 4-T Life Cycle System that gives a person the “Abilities” to be transformed from a “Taker” to a “Giver” making families: Sustainable, Stable and Reliable. They are based in Minneapolis and Chicago. Monique’s Boutique and Potter’s House are two ministries available through Life Center that provide employment training and all of the proceeds go to support the Life Center.
Prayer Requests: Pray that God would continue to make an impact on building healthy communities in the inner cities of Minneapolis and Chicago.
Mark and Janie Durene
The Durenes are missionaries to Thailand and currently have been working on a church plant in Teung. Back in May, the Durenes and Pastor Thawan met with a Christian family in Teung that had been praying for a church plant for years. The gentlemen and his family were the first members of the church. Over the past few months the church has grown to 40 people. The church has two kid’s classes and a bible school student is teaching the adult Sunday school class. Click here to see a brief update on the new church plant.
Prayer Requests: That a couple would join their ministry to help them with this church launch in Teung.
Gerrit & Tara Kenyon
Malachi
The Kenyons are missionaries preparing to go to Panama. This past January the Kenyons were asked to go to Panama for General Council, and during this time, a door was opened by the National Church to come and do Ethics Presentations in high schools in Panama which they were currently doing in El Salvador. This had been an answer to prayer that the door was opened to go to Panama.
Prayer Requests: Please pray for the Kenyons as they begin preparing to move to Panama and launch an Ethics program in public high schools. Pray for all the logistics and funds to come in.
John and Jolene Konkel
Jadon, Jeremiah and Jaaron
The Konkels are missionaries to the University of Minnesota where John Konkel was just appointed chaplain of a fraternity. They are hoping to see God break it open with the Gospel. The Konkels are also directing spiritual formations in the Christian Frat house, KPA, which sits above their ministry coffee shop, Bordertown. Twenty one students live there and this year the house will be turned into a missionary training house.
Prayer Requests: Pray that God would continue to work in this ministry and provide breakthrough in the lives of the college students.
Greg & Lisa Kuechler
Kendra and Katherine
The Kuechlers are church planters in Eastern Germany. They are currently involved in their second church plant which is in an area that is over 90% atheist. God however is touching hearts. They are in the process of training leaders to take over the church when they come back stateside to itinerate.
Prayer Requests: Please pray that God would open the door for the church to move to a more central and flexible facility. They have a building in mind, but are in need of the city to work with them in getting it.
Troy and Cheryl Scott
Nathaniel, Naomi, and Natalie
The Scotts are missionaries to Thailand. In February 2009 they hosted their first team from the States and oversaw several large building projects for the team. The first 2 large projects were to build dorm rooms for Bible Students, and to build a coffee shop for a ministry to College Students at the University of Chiangmai. The third major project was to build a dorm for the boys at the Hope House Children’s Home complete with bathrooms! In April 2009 they began coffee shop ministry at TLC (ministry to University Students). In June 2009 they had their third outreach to the Hope House Children’s Home.
Prayer Requests: Pray that hearts would be open when they share the Gospel message. Pray against the stronghold the enemy has over Thailand. Pray that they will make lots of connections into the Thai community and have many opportunities to share about Christ’s love.
Phil and Katja Zarns
Benjamin and Matilda
The Zarns are missionaries to Sweden. After spending a year deciphering the language of Sverige, meeting and learning the dynamics of the local and national leadership, and praying and meeting people on campus at Stockholm University, Katja and Phil have received a ‘green-light’ from respected leaders in their lives to begin a Church Plant that focuses on the University.
Prayer Requests: Please pray with us as the Zarns meet with their launch team in the coming weeks and implement the vision.
Minnesota Teen Challenge

They have a 60 day drug treatment program as well as a year long program. They serve teens and adults from all ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. The mission at Teen Challenge is to provide youth, adults and families with an effective and comprehensive Christian faith-based solution to life-controlling drug and alcohol problems in order to become productive members of society. By applying biblical principles, Teen Challenge endeavors to help people become mentally-sound, emotionally-balanced, socially-adjusted, physically-well, and spiritually-alive.
Prayer Requests: Pray for God’s financial provisions in this vital ministry to over 425 residents who are finding healing and hope through faith in Jesus Christ.
Richard and Kim Baker
The Bakers are MN Youth Alive missionaries. Minnesota Youth Alive is committed to the mission of seeing every student on every campus in every community hear at least one presentation of the Gospel before they graduate from high school.
Prayer Requests: Pray that the students will continue to be impacted for Christ.
